My Experiences with Gender Inequalities (“It’s not the 1960s”)
Every day, I go to my school’s scenery shop after school for 3 hours a day, 5 hours on weekends. I’ve become good friends with the owner of the shop, and build up a sizable resume/portfolio. I am frequently given compliments about my stellar saber saw skills and opportunities to expand my horizons by my tech director and many other working professionals.
And, every day, I am acknowledged as a subpar worker by some of my less experienced, male co-workers, and it is simply because of my gender.
